2026 Fantasy Outlook

The six-time All-Star and 2023 Cy Young winner will miss the start of the 2026 season after undergoing Tommy John surgery with an internal brace last March. The Yankees are hoping to have Cole back in the starting rotation by late May or early June. He battled elbow inflammation early in 2024 but went the rest-and-rehab route that season before surgery became unavoidable last spring. After the missed time, Cole will be a wild card for New York in 2026. His stuff was down in 2024 following his initial return from the elbow injury, and it often takes pitchers a while before they fully regain their command coming off TJS. About the only certainly is that Cole will be in the Yankees' rotation when healthy. Read Past Outlooks
