2026 Fantasy Outlook
Cameron didn't have to wait long into the 2025 season to make his MLB debut, as he was called up from Triple-A in late April for a spot start. He returned to the minors after firing 6.1 scoreless frames but rejoined the Royals in mid-May and finished fourth on the team with 24 starts. A 2.99 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 114:43 K:BB across 138.1 innings netted him a fourth-place finish in voting for AL Rookie of the Year. The left-hander finished in the 73rd and 81st percentiles in hard-hit rate (37.4 percent) and barrel rate (6.3 percent), respectively, but a 4.08 xERA and 4.18 xFIP indicate he may have been a bit fortunate with his results. Cameron is a strong bet to open 2026 in Kansas City's starting rotation and has significant upside, but some sophomore regression wouldn't be too surprising given the underlying numbers.
